Camila Mendes is a Brazilian-American actress known for portraying Veronica Lodge on The CW television series “Riverdale.”
Mendes’ first acting job was in a commercial for IKEA. In 2016, she was cast as Veronica Lodge in The CW’s teen drama “Riverdale”, a subversive take on the classic “Archie” comics.
She made feature film debut in The New Romantic, which premiered at the SXSW Festival in March 2018. In that same month, Mendes joined the cast of The Stand-In alongside Laura Marano and Matt Walsh.
In 2020, Mendes co-starred in the critically acclaimed sci-fi/comedy Palm Springs.
Mendes graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2016. While a student at Tisch, she met and became friends with Maggie Rogers, the singer-songwriter of “Alaska” and “Light On” fame.
Mendes has stated that while she was in college, she was roofied and sexually assaulted, leading her to get a tattoo above her ribcage reading “to build a home.”
Mendes has revealed that she has previously struggled with bulimia, eventually seeking professional help with it and seeing a therapist and a nutritionist after having a difficult time with her fittings for “Riverdale.”
