Claire Berger is a comedian and humorous corporate speaker. With a career in comedy that spans over 2 decades and around the globe — from comedy clubs and colleges to keeping audiences entertained during the taping of popular sitcoms — Berger realized that the one place where humor is most needed, but often missing, is the workplace. In her ability to reach people through humor, she discovered a valuable tool that could be highly effective in a business environment. With the creation of FunnyWorks, Inc. in 1998, Berger focused her talents (along with a staff of comedy writers) to bring humor into the workplace and help corporate America tap into one of its most valuable hidden resources.
Berger began her comedy career in Chicago with the legendary Second City improvisational theater. She’s received critical acclaim as a stand-up comedian and radio talk show host. After moving to Los Angeles, she found great success as a warm-up comedian entertaining audiences of over 65 different television shows including “Seinfeld,” “Just Shoot Me,” “The Ellen Show” and nine seasons of “Murphy Brown.”
As the host of the HGTV’s “Fantasy Open House,” Berger became the first stand-up comic the network trusted to host a series, taking viewers on an offbeat tour of exquisite multi-million dollar homes around the country.
Her book, ‘FUNNY WORKS! 52 Ways to Have More Fun at Work’, gives the working world easy ways to create a more productive atmosphere at the office.
Often referred to as the ‘exotic’ exception in comedy, Berger juggles a flourishing career making people laugh and nurturing a 25-year marriage with two kids – a fantasy most accomplished comedians dream of, but rarely achieve. Berger now resides in New York City. This is one woman who is enjoying the last laugh.
