Several years later, Adam began playing for professional rugby union team Ospreys, remaining with the club for more than a decade. During his time with the team, Adam was soon called upon to become part of the Welsh national squad, making his debut in a match against England as part of the Six Nations in 2003.
Following his success on the pitch, Adam’s unquestionable sporting abilities were recognised when he joined the Welsh World Cup squad that very same year. Playing an important role in driving the Welsh team’s performance, Adam appeared prominently throughout the tournament.
Having pitted their wits against top teams New Zealand and Italy, the Welsh team would eventually lose out to the England team in the quarter-final stage of the tournament. Having proven his abilities time and time again, Adam continued to play a major role in Welsh rugby during the years that followed. He took part in his second World Cup in 2007, as well as continually competing in the Six Nations. Participating in his third World Cup in 2011, Adam competed against the likes of Samoa, Fiji, South Africa, France and Ireland. In 2013, Adam also travelled to Australia as part of the British and Irish Lions tour.
Adam’s accomplishments in the world of rugby are unquestionable. Along with a select few Welsh players, Adam has won a staggering three Grand Slams, cementing his position as one of the sport’s most iconic athletes. Drawing on many years of experience in the rugby world, Adam has continued to inspire budding sports stars and corporate professionals. A leading name among after dinner speakers, Adam knows everything there is to know about achieving peak performance. As a result, Adam has become a popular appearance at gala dinners and corporate events, delighting those lucky enough to have experienced his work as a rugby speaker.
Adam announced in 2018 that Adam would retire from the game completely, having retired from international rugby three years earlier.
