A star in show business for more than 60 years, Art Linkletter has lifted our spirits through radio, television, and print. A true master of the podium, he has inspired thousands of audiences during his prolific speaking career.
A three-time Emmy Award winner — including the 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award — Linkletter is probably best known for his performances in two of the longest running shows in broadcast history — House Party (25 years) and People are Funny (19 years). Linkletter also brought Americans his insightful humor through his 23 books, including Kids Say the Darndest Things, one of the top 14 best sellers in American publishing history. His most recent national best seller is Old Age Is Not For Sissies.
In addition, Art starred in and co-produced many spectaculars and specials, as well as acting in half a dozen dramatic shows and several motion pictures.
Art has found success in many endeavors beyond show business, however. Art has served on Boards of Directors for many organizations including MGM, Western Airlines, Kaiser Hospitals, and the French Foundation for Alzheimer’s Disease… to name just a few. As Chairman of the Board of Linkletter Enterprises, Art oversees enterprises involved in the building and management of public storehouses, office buildings, cow-calf operations, real estate development, cattle and sheep stations in Australia, and various oil enterprises around the world. Over a 30-year period, Linkletter Oil Enterprises has drilled for oil and gas in Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, and all parts of the U.S. from the Gulf Coast to California. The corporation has also been involved in Canadian drilling and Alaskan exploration.
Art is a speaker unmatched in talent and drive. Art’s annual schedule consists of 75 paid speaking engagements, numerous board meetings, national television appearances (most recently, a weekly program with Bill Cosby), a week-long surfing trip off the coast of Hawaii and skiing in Park City, Utah!!!
