Astronaut Daniel (Dan) Tani is a former astronaut who has spent 132 days in space over 3 missions in his 16 year career at NASA. He has performed 6 space walks (EVAs) and assisted in the assembly of the International Space Station (ISS).

Tani will share his journey from being the son of Japanese-American parents that were interned during World War II to living on the ISS for 4 months. His optimistic observations of the world and humanity through his stories, photographs and videos will inspire, amaze and inform his audience.

Tani is a native of Chicago and a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After retiring from NASA, he has been a high school teacher and also a Director at the non- profit US-Japan Foundation. He lives outside of Washington DC with his wife and 3 children.
