Herman HermEdwards is the current head football coach at Arizona State University entering his fifth season in Tempe. A strong leader in the ASU community, Edwards is also a Professor of Practice in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where he guest lectures and hold periodic discussions around sports and media.

Edwards is a former ESPN NFL analyst who contributed to a variety of shows across the network including NFL Live, SportsCenter and First Take among others.

Edwards spent time as an NFL head coach for the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs where he led both teams to the postseason in his inaugural season.

Edwards also had a nine-year NFL playing career as a defensive back with the Philadelphia Eagles. While with the Eagles, he never missed a game nine seasons, started in Super Bowl XV and his 33 career interceptions remains tied for second most in franchise history.

A consummate team member, always charity minded and an ambassador for the game of football, past recognitions of Edwards efforts have included being named the Walter Camp Foundation Man of the Year; Team ESPN Commentator of the Year and recognized by Shell Oil Company with the Shell Legacy Award.
