Named one of Billboard’s Artists to Watch List in 2018, Jessie Chris is a country music singer-songwriter and an anti-bullying advocate. In 2017, she made her national television debut on the TODAY Show when she was the first country artist to be named Artist of the Month by the legendary radio host Elvis Duran. Inspired by her fight against bullying, Danny Wood of New Kids on The Block wrote a duet, “Bodyguard,” which the pair released in February 2019. Jessie has opened for iconic artists including Luke Bryan, Jimmie Allen, Chris Young, John Rich, Trace Adkins and Billy Ray Cyrus in addition to performing at The Country Music Hall of Fame.
Chris was the victim of extreme bullying from a young age due to her passion for country music. As a result, Chris has made promoting anti-bullying a major element of her career and to date, has visited more than 100 schools as part of her Anti-Bullying Tour.
She has previously served as an ambassador for Disney’s “Choose Kindness” campaign as well as Sylvania Lighting’s “Be the Light” campaign. In 2018, Chris was celebrated at the TLC Network’s Give a Little TLC Awards for her efforts in combating bullying. She authored a children’s book, Dreams (September 2019), inspired by her experience with bullying as a child. She hopes her book, advocacy, music and keynotes will encourage kids and adults alike to lift each other up, rather than knocking each other down.
