Former CEO of Paramount Pictures and the first woman to head a major film studio, Sherry Lansing is an inspiring and empowering presence on the lecture stage. To listening audiences she narrates the story of her extraordinary career as a businesswoman and philanthropist, and speaks eloquently on the elements of leadership, the joys of charitable giving, and the importance of attaining one’s life goals both personally and professionally.
In lectures that are both entertaining and edifying, Sherry takes audiences behind the scenes of her astronomical rise from script reader for MGM (where she worked on Kramer vs. Kramer and The China Syndrome) to President of 20th Century Fox at the age of 35, and finally to her heady tenure at Paramount, where she oversaw the production of such landmark films as Forrest Gump, Fatal Attraction, Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, and the highest-grossing movie of all time, Titanic. Her presentations underscore the importance of recognizing obstacles as challenges, as well as the virtues of determination, diligence and passion for one’s work.
The recipient of numerous awards for her business and charitable work, in 2005 Sherry created The Sherry Lansing Foundation to consolidate the many aspects of her philanthropic efforts, particularly in the field of cancer research. Sherry is also a Regent of the University of California and sits on the boards of The Carter Center, Teach for America, and The American Association for Cancer Research.
In keeping with her dedication to humanitarian work, Sherry will be donating 100% of her speaking fees to cancer research and other causes served by The Sherry Lansing Foundation.
Sherry currently resides in Los Angeles.
