The Red-Headed Diva is Kelly A. Galanis, Professional Socializer, Natural Networker, and Creator of Confidence. Kelly devotes much of her time as a presenter, consultant and educator of Social Media and Networking. As The Red-Headed Diva, Kellys mission is to help individuals develop a positive, confident social image by educating them on the proper way to use Social Media. Her primary focus is to work with institutions and organizations to integrate Social Media into their curriculum, mission and strategic plan. She has presented topics such as “Embracing Your Inner Diva: Cool Confidence Created”, “Breadcrumbs: Protecting Your Online Social Identity” and “Social Media in Higher Education: An Education Essential” and welcomes inquiries on speaking for any group.
Kelly is a higher education professional with over ten years of experience working for both public and private institutions. Her tenure includes a 2-year presidential fellowship in the divisions of Academic Affairs and Advancement and University Relations at Westfield State University. This experience allowed Kelly to work on a variety of projects for the betterment of the University, including developing programs for the alumni population and serving as a leadership figure in the community promoting the college and its values.
Kelly’s prior positions have had a strong focus on information management and database design for educational institutions. She is experienced with prospect research, communications, and marketing aspects, especially in the fields of Admissions and Advancement/Development in higher education. Her expert opinion on social media is frequently sought by senior level administrators and her unique approach to educating others in social media is highly sought after in the Connecticut and Massachusetts area.
Long active from a leadership standpoint, Kelly is Past President of Massachusetts Women in Public Higher Education, the Bay Path College Alumni Association Council, and on the Board of Directors for the Westfield Theatre Group. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of Dress for Success and Women In Philanthropy. Her dedication and commitment to her profession and volunteer organizations was honored when selected as one of Business West Magazines Forty Under 40 the class of 2008.
